Introducing Untamed Data

Camera traps already produce the raw material. What teams need is the system around it — and that is what we set out to build.

Anyone who has run a camera-trap program knows the pattern: a drive full of SD cards, thousands of near-identical photos, and a spreadsheet that never quite keeps up. The wildlife is out there and the cameras are firing — but turning that into something you can report, compare, and act on takes days you do not have.

From files to a record

Untamed Data is a data platform for exactly that step. Footage leaves the trap by automatic upload (FTPS, or plain FTP as a fallback), lands in your project, and is labeled by our EU-hosted wildlife AI. Detections the model is unsure about go to a review queue instead of being silently guessed, so a person confirms or corrects them — and those corrections stay in your data. From there it is maps, simple charts, alerts, and CSV/PDF export.

Two principles we did not want to compromise on

Your data stays yours, in Europe. Storage is in the Netherlands by default and built with GDPR in mind; footage and detections are yours to export at any time. And your cameras are not locked to one brand — anything that can upload over FTPS/FTP works, so your hardware choices stay open.
