Approach
Brand-agnostic by design
We don't sell you a camera. The platform works with the cameras you already run, or plan to buy, as long as they can push their files to a server.
Any camera that uploads over FTPS (preferred) or plain FTP fits — a battery wildlife camera out in the field, or a fixed IP camera at a site with power and a network. No proprietary app, no locked ecosystem, no single vendor. Pick the camera that suits your terrain, budget, and power — the platform takes it from there, giving each camera its own login so files map cleanly into your project.
No connection needed to start
Connected cameras are becoming the norm — 4G, 5G, and satellite links keep growing. But plenty of cameras aren't online yet, and you don't need one to use the platform. Upload manually — from an SD card or your computer — and it runs through the same pipeline: AI, review, dashboard, and export. It's also the fastest way to try the platform on footage you already have.
Why FTPS first
FTPS wraps the login and the file transfer in encryption — the same idea as HTTPS for websites — so camera credentials and footage don't travel in the clear. We prefer it wherever a camera offers it, and fall back to plain FTP only when it doesn't. More in FTP vs FTPS.
What a camera needs
- Outbound internet — usually 4G/LTE in the field, or Wi-Fi / a fixed line at a base station.
- FTPS or FTP upload — with passive mode, which most camera clients require.
- Standard photo/video — common JPG and MP4/AVI/MOV formats.

As we validate cameras against the platform, we list them here, with the firmware and protocol we tested, and when. It shows what works, not what to buy: you source the camera yourself. A model that isn't listed may still work — ask us.
