Comparable over time
Warden staff and seasons change. The record has to carry over, so this year's counts still mean something next to last year's.
Use case · Nature reserves & protected areas
Reserves and national parks already run cameras. The hard part is turning a season of captures into a record that holds up: which species, how often, and the survey effort behind the numbers. Untamed Data is the data layer that does exactly that, hosted in Europe and yours to export.
What a reserve needs
Monitoring in a protected area has to answer to more than curiosity: funders, partners, and statutory reporting. That only works if the data stays comparable over time and you can show how it was produced.

Presence and relative abundance are only credible with the survey effort behind them. Both travel with the data, per site.
Footage and detections are yours, hosted in Europe, and exportable at any time. No vendor holding the record hostage.
How it works for a reserve
Add footage yourself from an SD card or laptop, or let cameras upload automatically. The same structure either way, across every site in the reserve.
Species recognition runs in Europe. Uncertain detections go to a review queue where a person confirms or corrects them, and those corrections stay in your data. More on wildlife AI →
Relative abundance (RAI) and survey effort are computed per deployment, so results are comparable between sites and seasons. How RAI works →
Filter by species, camera, and date; see where activity concentrates on a map; export CSV and PDF for reports, grants, and partners.
Reporting & standards
For Natura 2000 sites, camera traps produce the kind of evidence that Article 17 reporting rests on: presence, relative abundance, and survey effort you can export and defend. Untamed Data provides that data layer. It does not write the legal assessment, and we do not pretend it does. See camera traps for Natura 2000 monitoring for where the evidence fits and where its limits are.
When you need to share or archive a dataset, you can export a Camtrap DP package: the open camera-trap standard that other tools and repositories read. Publishing on to Darwin Core and GBIF is a direction we are building toward, not available yet, and we say so plainly on the standards & interoperability page. And because every detection carries its provenance (model version, whether a person confirmed it), the record stays auditable years later.
