GPS & camera location
A detection without a location is half a data point. Recording where each camera sits turns a pile of captures into a map you can read.
In the Untamed Data Platform, each camera carries GPS coordinates. That is what puts detections on a map, lets you compare activity per location, and shows where the pressure — predators, priority species, poaching risk — actually concentrates across a site or a multi-site network.
Setting the location
Add the coordinates when you set up a camera. Read them off a handheld GPS or a phone at the exact spot, or drop the pin on the map. A few meters of accuracy is plenty for a trail; for tight grids, take the reading at the camera, not back at the vehicle.
Keep it consistent
If you move a camera, update its location so the map and the per-site counts stay honest. For long-running studies, keeping the same station coordinates season after season is what makes the data comparable over time — the basis of any trend.
